Yamaha R1 4XV
Description
1998 Yamaha R1 4XV with only 4k miles from new, low chassis number, in the first couple of thousand bikes produced, this bike was sold new by Shirlaws Yamaha in February 1998.
The bike was part of a collection, used sparingly it only covered 3,517 miles up to 2008 when the original owner died and the bike was sold off. It was then purchased by a collector who owned the bike untill 2020. The MOT history corroborates that it was held in the collection until its sale at a Hobbs Parker auction where it had only gained 41 miles in the 12 years, now on 3,562 miles. The new buyer bought the bike to rekindle his younger days from the 90’s on the bike he’d always dreamed of having and rode 268 miles. The R1 was then traded in to Alford Brothers Yamaha, and was purchased by the Yamaha salesman himself where it received a full service and new tyres. The r1 then gained its most recent owner in 2023 who has used it and brought the mileage up to the current 4,322.
The bike is accompanied with the original 2 keys, a new service pack, service invoices, original paperwork wallet from Shirlaws and even the original dealer plate which is always a nice touch.
The latest service was carried out in January 2025 at 4322 miles by Yamaha, the bike wants for nothing and is good to go.
